After surviving the headache of the previous semester as well as the rush of the holidays, exhausted university students Kuroo Tetsurou and Kozume Kenma were looking forward to a well-deserved day off. They were finally going to be home together for the full day, and no assignments or the need to commute in the snow for classes stood in their way.
It was exactly what they needed: quality time under the kotatsu and playing their favorite video games. That is... until they get an unexpected visit from a desperate mother cat in the middle of a winter storm. -

Kenma wasn’t planning on going to a northern inn with his family for Winter Break. If he had his way, he would’ve spent his days under the kotatsu, switching between gaming and studying for his entrance exams. But when he finds out that Kuroo will spend his break in the same area, Kenma jumps at the chance, especially after not seeing each other for weeks.
It’s perfectly normal for long-time childhood best friends to miss each other, though something changes when an unexpected blizzard passes by and the lights flicker off.

Maomao did not have much care for banquets or birth days, but she did care for her husband. So it was the thought of bringing him a modicum of comfort, that she committed herself to learning Suiren's recipe and technique, taking care to replicate it.
Having received the lady-in-waiting's seal of approval, Suiren only reminded her of the hour in which she would need to bathe in order to prepare for the banquet before leaving Maomao to her own devices. She spent the afternoon boiling sugars and pouring molds, stretching out the fine filament and rolling the bundles, until the counter space was covered with the small, white puffs of spun sugar.
Now, Maomao looks around at the treats before lifting one up to just beyond her nose, inspecting its web-like exterior closely, smelling the nuttiness. It felt tacky to the touch, quickly sticking to her skin. Curious as always, Maomao opened her mouth to try the thing - quality control, of course - but just as the treat hit her tongue, a voice, heaven-spun and mouthwateringly sweet in it's own right, sounded right in her ear. "Hello, my dear."
or, Maomao prepares Jinshi a treat on his birth day, but he has something more in mind.
