“Don’t you think it’s time?” Vi asked.
She did. Caitlyn really did. And she knew the longer they waited the further apart in age this hypothetical second child would be from Lavender.
The kitchen was quiet for a moment. This wasn’t something that would be solved tonight, and likely not within the next few weeks. There were so many moving pieces to this, they couldn’t rush into this. They both knew that.
Finally, Vi braved a different question, perhaps one she should have started with. “Do you want another—”
“Yes.” Caitlyn was quick to answer, uncrossing her arms as she met and held Vi’s gaze.
She was certain. She knew what she wanted, she just wasn’t sure if she was ready.

Seven years after the conflict with Noxus, Vi feels it's time to expand their family of three to four. Her heart still plagued with memories of her sister, Vi wants her daughter to experience the same bonds she shared with Jinx. Caitlyn isn't sure if now is a good time. Vi pushed her sunglasses onto her head to get a better look at the pump. Late-afternoon sun stretched the shadows across the asphalt, dust dancing in the thick air. She inserted the nozzle, the smell of gasoline swirling around her.
She saw the flash of white in her peripheral vision before it fully registered. A woman in a wedding dress, running in from the train tracks, bare feet pounding the ground, heels gripped tight in her hand. Her hair was pinned up in a sophisticated twist. A few midnight strands had come loose, sticking to her pale face. She looked rattled, but oh, so beautiful.
Vi stood straighter, heart thumping inexplicably fast.
The woman skidded to a stop, breath ragged. Faint smudges of mascara trailed down her cheeks, under wide cerulean-blue eyes.
“Can you give me a ride?” she managed, voice wavering, accent clipped and posh, so out of place in this grimy station.
Vi swallowed. She should’ve asked a million questions—like who, why, where. Instead, she removed the gas nozzle, jammed it back, and opened the passenger door.
“Get in,” she said.

Caitlyn stared back at her, ears burning, at the absolutely absurd request. No one, no one on this green earth, could make the infamous disaster that was Powder’s sister dateable. It was absolutely ridiculous to think anyone would want to date the girl who insisted her birth name was Violence no matter how anyone prettied her up. It was a doomed project and she should say as much.
