Summary
“If I didn't want to be here I wouldn't. There's just a lot of loud drunks in here.”
Dazai takes his turn to chime in and steer his torment from Kunikida to reference some stranger, “Oh, no, there's quiet ones here too.” In typical Dazai fashion, the tone of his voice indicates he knows something the rest don't. Ranpo follows Dazai's line of sight to be met with intensely fixed eyes looking straight at Ranpo from the shadows.
His gaze isn’t a pretty one. Ranpo scans the stranger up and down, a mischievous smile spreading wide on his face when the stranger notices Ranpo looking back and quickly averts his eyes, demeanor shifting from antagonistic to avoidant.
"Looks like he should be at a goth club."
Ranpo can recall the last time roughly six years ago when he was this excited at the sight of, or really the mere presence of someone else, like it was fresh in his mind. The first and last time it felt like the world stopped when he was in the company of someone else. Everything is warm, so warm, inside and out, and he finds a feeling he has been yearning for again for years.

Summary
Dazai has nearly giddily sunk down to low, low levels before in attempts to follow through with this act the two perform every spare moment, and he's never a man to back down from a challenge. There's an ubiquitous euphoria in going to the edge, any extreme that either of the two are willing to extend to. There's a saving grace on nights like these, however, when Chuuya takes hold and Dazai surrenders, it's the only time either of them could. If there's an ounce of vulnerability to take hold of and take advantage of, they take it in stride.
It's a blur, a riveting, despairing blur of Chuuya guiding his mutt to rut into him however they would like, one hand tightly gripping the leash that had been attached to Dazai's leather collar, he doesn't quite remember when that appeared. He's digging his fingers into Chuuya's hips in a rough hold, likely to leave marks to be seen.

Dazai interrupts him, predicting that the conversation would go nowhere if he didn't intervene, "What's your name?"
The kid's face sours when Dazai interrupts him, as if he could look any more pissed off, and he answers, "Why should I tell you?" He does tell him, though, immediately. "It's Nakahara Chuuya." So much for his bitter quip.
Chuuya. Dazai liked the sound of his name, it had a nice ring in his ears. "Dazai. I'm Dazai Osamu."
As easy as it is to rile Chuuya up, it's even harder for Dazai to resist doing in the first place. There's something in the way he's unapologetically expressive, even if it's his mostly dramatic temperament. Dazai's always taken an interest in the reactions of other people, content to sit on the sidelines observing them from a disconnected plane. There's something he just doesn't get, something he wants to understand through the way Chuuya fascinates him more than the rest of the individuals he's met.

Summary
Ranpo had a delayed reaction at first, jerking the swing to a stop and holding his hand tight. He looked around for a second before spotting the kid whose hair it landed in. That one didn't surprise Ranpo.
He watched the still child reach a hand up to grab the sucker and raggedy ponytail they had in their hair, but the candy wouldn't budge from the looks of unsuccessful tugging.
Ranpo began to feel uneasy when he saw the kid tug harder, rip out a few pieces of hair, flail their hands, and drop a notebook that had been secured against the kid's chest. It was only when he heard screaming and saw tears from under a mop of hair covering the face otherwise, that Ranpo didn't know what to do.

"They make shapes?”
Dazai squints his eyes against the darkness before a look of recognition forms on his face. “Constellations.”
“Con– constellations.” The word falls messily off of Sigma’s tongue. “Yes, those, thank you. I know a few by their shape, the um– the spoon one?”
Their face flushed, thoughts race through Sigma's head while they curl inwards on themself, but those thoughts are quieted when Dazai's flurry of giggles dies down. “It's called The Big Dipper. There's the Little Dipper too, connected to the North Star.” A confused expression must be visible upon Sigma's features because Dazai continues on, “The very bright one, that you use for navigation.”

“Hit me again,” Dazai huffs out, still fighting to regain a steady breath.
Chuuya doesn’t hesitate.
To say Chuuya hates Dazai wouldn’t be a lie, but it’s far from the truth. He’s the biggest nuisance to ever force his way into Chuuya’s life, but also his favourite form of escape. He could have all the booze and bud in the world and he’d still struggle to reach the same level of intoxication fucking Dazai provides.
Every time his palm connects with the bastard's cheek, it’s part punishment for all the torment, and part gratitude for all the pleasure. He isn’t sure if he’d like hitting Dazai more or less if he wasn’t so obsessed with the violence of being desired.

But his new obnoxious roommate, who spends his days lazing around the apartment and bringing home strangers every other night, starts to throw Chuuya off track. Especially when Chuuya finds out how he pays rent.
