    Summary

“What you do is good,” because Dean’s not so great in the words department. It doesn’t seem to matter, Cas looks touched by the sentiment either way. “And what you did- too. I mean, what you said, did you really…Ya know. Carry my burning soul?

“You don’t remember?” Cas seems genuinely surprised. As surprised as he can, at least, with that perpetually bird-like way he has about him.

“What, you yanking me out? Nah. There’s nothing there.”

“Yes, I carried you out of Hell.”

    “My burning soul.”

    “Yes.”

“What was- What was that like?”

or the one where dean gets captured by demons while the apocalypse looms, and castiel rescues him from both hell and his existential crisis

    Summary

"Most times when somebody sees their husband in a fucking thong shop they assume he’s cheating on them.”

Castiel blinks. “But… You’re not cheating on me…”

“I know I’m not cheating on you.”

“Which is why I assumed you were buying clothes for Eileen.”

Dean swears under his breath and pinches the bridge of his nose. “Look- Let’s just- Let’s forget this even happened, okay?” Even though it’s phrased as a question, Castiel understands it as closer to the command that it actually is.

But Castiel doesn’t want to forget this happened. Something is awkward and lingering in the air between them, in the way that Dean shifts from foot to foot and won’t meet Castiel’s eyes. And if Dean wasn’t shopping for Eileen, and he wasn’t shopping for another woman… The options for who was being shopped for are dwindling by the second.

Dean’s face is still pink. Castiel’s heart squeezes tight and forces itself up into his sternum.

“You were… shopping for yourself,” he says lowly.

    Bookmarker's Notes

One of the best works of literature on this site. I have so much to say but no way to say it, it drives me insane!!

Within seconds, it had me going from horny from how lovingly, gently but firmly Castiel talked Dean through all of it straight to sobbing about the way the narration's words were so carefully sewn into something so breathtakingly beautiful like a whole new world... I truly cannot express what I felt reading this well enough. (I need the author to become a published writer, I am so serious rn, I'd read anything.)

And the gender-affirming part of the story too, the way an angel sees gender... I need to FUSE with him, I'm not even joking. Dean deserves nothing less, and I'm so jealous of him for having Castiel like that.

    Summary

Dean has a good life. Sure, his daughter’s dead, and he has a permanent limp because of a stupid drunken decision a year and a half after Emma’s death. But now he's a world-famous author, fifteen years sober, and has wonderful friends and family by his side. Though… his house seems a bit too empty. There is a reason he spends most of his time at Sam and Eileen’s place.

But, after the CEO of the biggest tech company in the world comes to one of Dean’s book signings for his daughter, Dean can't stop thinking of the CEO's bright blue eyes. Except that Dean isn’t looking for a relationship. Yes, he’s comfortably bisexual, but that’s beside the point. Dean has had too many failed relationships and has too much baggage. So, why does Castiel keep emailing him? And why does Dean keep emailing him back?

    Summary

“You must be feeling better,” Ratio remarks, bringing Aventurine’s attention back to him.

Admittedly, he was, though the events of the night still left an indelible mark in his mind, the soft purring from the critters in his lap did wonders to steady him into the present. His mind still felt sluggish, the soft light in his room still seeming dim, and the weight of the cakes still somewhat lighter than he was used to, but the feeling was melting away.

    It’s alright, you’re safe now.
    For how long?
    Stay alive.

After a mission is compromised, Dr. Ratio takes care of Aventurine.

Alhaitham's life has been a constant test that he is failing miserably. He doesn't know what he's doing wrong, or why it's so hard to just act the way everyone else does. Kaveh's little comments about his supposed lack of humanity aren't helping either. Does it matter that he knows he's not a machine if the whole world believes he is?
