Hoseok is glowing with relief, all the exhaustion that had been written all over him before completely washed away. “I thought I’d stay until you woke up, and Jungkookie came to keep me company.”
“Jungkook…” Jimin repeats, voice low as if Jungkook wouldn’t hear him. “Is it…a friend of yours?”
Hoseok’s face goes slack. “Jimin-ah, you know Jungkook.”
Jimin turns to stare at him again. Jungkook sees him try to place him. He sees him fail.
Or: After losing a chunk of memory, Jimin needs to be looked after. With everyone else knee-deep in adult responsibilities, it falls to Jungkook to take care of Jimin until they know what's wrong—even if Jimin has completely forgotten him.

“Jungkook, where do we go from here?” Jimin asks.
Jungkook opens his eyes. He looks up at Jimin, at the reflections the underlit water projects on his face. His black hair that’s always neat no matter how much Jungkook roughs it up, his soft features that always remain gentle even in distress. The way Jimin looks at him, like he’s his entire world.
"What do you mean?" He asks.
“I feel like we’ve been so wrapped up in our world.” Jimin begins, and Jungkook hangs off his every word. “That we’ve failed to realize that there’s so much beyond. That there’s more than just you and me, and the life we’ve led over the past 13 years, and I don’t think I can survive the bubble bursting.”
Jungkook stares.
“So tell me, Jungkook,” Jimin says. “Where do we go from here?”

Jungkook discovers very early on in life that he is Jimin's entire world, and that he'll always be caught in the other boy's orbit.
