Her eyes dart to the board. Words she doesn’t speak live up there. Cappuccino. Macchiato. Americano. Americano? Did it look like they were in America? She should ask. But her pride is gnawing and ridiculous and it claws at her throat. She doesn’t want to be taught. Not by him. Not right now.
“Just… plain coffee!” she says.
His eyebrow raises slightly. “Drip?”
She doesn’t know what that means. She decides it means yes. “Mm.”

In which Shinjiro runs a coffee shop, and Kotone opens a flower store across the way.

And the story splits in two. Because to her SEES, to the ones that all sacrificed themselves to give each other a little more time, Kotone Shiomi disappears, shattering like a stained-glass window and shimmering away like sand in a timid breeze.
But to Kotone, she’s staring at Shinji lurching towards her in one moment, and in the next she’s drowning. It’s not water, it's sand, it’s all sand.
