He feels overwhelmed. There are butterflies in his stomach, and he wants to hide his face because she can definitely see how much he likes her, but at the same time he wants her to keep looking through him at all his gooey emotional insides.
Easy solution: he closes his own eyes and kisses her again.

There's a person outside his apartment building.
They're just standing down there alone in the dark. Miles stares out the window, bewildered, but the person doesn't make their purpose any more clear. Is this a supernatural thing? Are they here for him?
The person bends and picks some litter off the ground, very unhelpfully. After several long, tortuous, highly confusing moments, they wave it at his window like they don't know why he's still up there.
He should not go down there. He doesn't even want to go down there. Miles can feel his body actively protesting the idea of going down there. He should just close the blinds and go back to bed.

Mizi fumbles for her glasses. Sua is still a fuzzy blob of white-black-violet, and Mizi needs to be sure she’s real. Sua presses them into her hand, and as Mizi puts them on she snaps into sharp relief, blushing, hair mussed and haloed with the glow of fluorescent lights.
The next time she sees Sua like that, smiling and breathless and ethereal and the focus of the world, it’s on stage with a bullet in her neck. She hits the ground, porcelain and still.
