“Oh, that’s easy.” His hand twisted a knob, and the notes came out sharper. “It is infected—Petrova Line and everything.”
In Grace's opinion, dreaming about time traveling is no excuse for getting out of practice with his Eridian. To the rest of the Petrova Taskforce, it seems a bit odd that their resident Astrophage expert has suddenly taken to carrying a keyboard around and playing it whenever he speaks. Eva Stratt resolves to figure out what is going on.

Summary
In the past/prior fic, Ciel forbade Sebastian from touching him after having a nightmare in his human form, insisting that if Sebastian was to protect or comfort him, it would be as a guard dog. Sebastian gets too into his role.

A massive black dog, perhaps more akin to a wolf than a dog, slowly padded into the room. Ciel could make out the hound’s thick fur and glistening claws, outlined by a silver sheen. Perhaps the most telling clue as to its nature was a gleaming pentacle at its neck, undoubtedly attached to a collar. The beast quietly pushed the door closed with a hind leg, as if it was trying to be polite.
“You think your manners and aesthetics matter one whit when you’re on all fours as an animal?” drawled Ciel, the nerve he'd had to gather to make the quip already dousing his fright.

Sebastian tilted his head, eyes playfully narrowed with an expression similar to a purring cat. Ciel wanted to snicker. “See, Phantomhive? Your seniors agree, it’s only right for me to give you a clean bill of health and some water. Come back to my study, won’t you?”
“If you all insist,” sighed Ciel, going so far as to need to lean on Sebastian for support as their gaggle of concerned students tightened around them. “I just don’t want any preferential treatment, you know.” He sniffled. “I only want to make you all proud.” If he wasn’t mistaken, he felt Sebastian’s body twitch with stifled mirth.
They’d barely closed the door to Sebastian’s office when Ciel broke character and wheezed with laughter.

He had very little knowledge on how to care for them, and no one to ask his most basic questions. After all, he was meant to be an experienced butler who was well-prepared for every aspect of this job.
Was this normal behaviour for young boys? To- regress, he supposed?
He had no way to know. Warily, he resigned himself to weathering this mood of his master’s like he weathered all the boy’s moods-- with amusement and dexterity.

Sebastian could never let his guard down. Ciel knew that he was protected every hour of every day, with a contract sealing that safety in place. Even without that, Sebastian wasn’t the type of demon to give himself over to idleness or any kind of rest. Ciel had to trick him into forgetting he was a demon at all to force him to sleep.
Ciel held up a soft leather collar, looking down at Sebastian. Sebastian was kneeling in front of Ciel’s bed, almost as if he was going to assist Ciel with getting dressed. The main difference was that Sebastian had taken off his jacket and tie and had undone one button of his shirt to allow Ciel easy access to his neck. “Are you ready?” asked Ciel.
“Yes, master.”
Just the act of kneeling and slipping into a fully obedient mindset had Sebastian’s eyes glazing over as he fixed his gaze on the collar. Despite being a demon, Ciel could see grey tinting the areas under Sebastian’s eyes. He was exhausted and it was up to Ciel to take care of him.

Horror strikes him down where he stands, then. He sways, stumbles to put his back to the living room wall. Harry is woozy in disbelief, watching the two words slashed into his chest in livid red just like the scar on his forehead. ‘AVADA KEDAVRA.’
He knows those words, the first he can remember, his earliest memory. It feels like he hasn’t breathed in minutes. When he comes back to the moment, he finds that perhaps he hasn’t. Harry gasps for air like a fish does for water, and doesn’t find it. His back has slid down the wall somehow and his hands grip his head, hair clenched in fists.
Then he realizes he’s actually panting, a ringing in his ears, blocking out whatever it is people are saying to him. Hermione crouches in front of him where he can’t possibly miss her, palms settling gently on his knees.
“Harry,” she’s saying. “Harry, it’s going to be alright.”

On the first day of Sebastian’s recovery, he had insisted on overseeing at least the basic preparations. All too quickly, it had become clear that he was in no state to do so, though, when he’d keeled over, one hand pressed to his wound. Ciel had demanded-- ordered, contract seal flaring with power-- that Sebastian stay in his quarters until his body was well and truly healed.
And the demon had not emerged from the room since.
Sebastian’s room, the head butler’s room, was at the very end of the hallway. Ciel tiptoes past Mey-Rin, Tanaka, and the boys’ room on quiet, slippered feet, stopping in front of the door.
