The idea that he might be listening to Will fuck someone else made his stomach drop. The hunger from before turned to nausea as an image of Will on top of some random, faceless girl flashed in his mind.
I gotta get out of here.
Suddenly feeling very grateful that their apartment had carpet instead of hardwood floors, Mike turned to leave as quietly as he could.
He’d only taken a single step when he heard the word, soft and low, drift out from under Will's bedroom door.
“Mike.”

Mike comes home early one day and overhears Will moaning his name. He makes a plan to figure out if he's the "Mike" that Will's fantasizing about.

“Mike... What are you doing here? Are you okay?”
Mike’s lips rested against Will’s head, brushing against his hair gently. His arms clung to Will’s sides as he started to tremble. The way his hands felt against Will’s body felt foreign after so long apart. It was so odd to think they hadn’t seen each other in over a year.
“It’s– It’s my dad. He’s dead, Will. He’s gone.”
“I’m so sorry,” Will said as they pulled apart slightly, glancing up to study Mike’s face. “What happened?”
“It was a heart attack. I just thought I should tell you in person, you know. Since I’m not sure you’d get a letter if I sent it, anyway. Plus, I just wanted to see your face again. It’s been so long. Too long.”

While Mike stayed in Hawkins after graduation, Will embarked on a new life, in a new state, with new people to surround him. The phone rings and his mom answers with a cheery tone and bright smile. "Hello?" Her smile widens upon hearing the voice on the end of the line. "Joyce! It's so nice to hear your voice. How are you?" Mike listens to the conversation as he reaches for the newspaper and pulls it to himself. He scans the front page and stops when he sees the date.
November 6th, 1988.
Huh. That explains the Feeling he has. Mike takes a breath and reads the headlines, keeping an ear out for his mom's conversation. "No, Will didn't spend the night here. Is he not at home?" Mike freezes, his blood going cold. The newspaper slips out of his hand, and a pit forms in his stomach.
Will is missing.

Will comes close, peering up at him in the way that meant he was reading Mike like the back of his palm. His brows furrows. "You're sick."
"I'm fine. Come on we're going to miss Dustin singing as that girl," Mike said, swooping down to peck a kiss onto his boyfriend's cheek.
He made a move to walk past, down the stairs when Will caught his wrist. He turns, confused. Could Will actually hear his thoughts? He didn't feel that sick, maybe a bit sweaty and tired.
"You can tell me anything, you know that Mike. What's wrong?"
Will's hand comes up to feel his forehead, he dodges it. It's easier to open up to Will, always has been, probably always would be, but he didn't feel that sick. No need to worry him.
"Nothing's wrong, just tired."

Mindy Park is rapidly realising that the first intelligent extraterrestrial to make contact with the human race thinks they’re fucking stupid. She’s pretty sure that Dr Grace isn’t accurately translating half the things Rocky is saying, but most of what he is telling her is that Rocky has a better way of doing what NASA wants them to do, and honestly, it seems like Rocky is mostly right. She probably doesn’t want to know what the other half of what Grace’s new alien friend is saying, if the things that are making it through what she’s calling the “middle school teacher filter” are “why would you do something the dumb way when you could do it the right way”.
or,
Mindy has a headache, Grace has trauma, Mark is confused and Rocky is wondering how humans made it in to space when they're all so, so dumb.
