Summary
A short story I wrote a while ago, I'm thinking about expanding on it but that probably won't happen for a while. Starts off in the story's "present" and jumps to a flashback for the rest. Some violence and implied drinking, a child is kidnapped. Set in one of my original fantasy worlds. *I will probably change the title later, I'm not feeling super creative right now...*

*UNLOCKED SPOILERS* This is set after unlocked, with Keefe gone from the lost cities and Sophie finding his letter. There are some pretty dark thoughts from Keefe's perspective, so if that is a trigger for you please be warned. This was planned as a slow burn Sokeefe story, but their relationship isn’t very developed since we didn't get to that point in the story. Please take care of yourself. Unfortunately for Luca, he didn’t think he was ever going to meet someone in Ottawa. He was the victim of having a very particular type that not many guys could live up to. He was desperately attracted to closeted, cocky, athletic fuckboys. Especially star athletes. He wanted a man that knew what he wanted, could chirp with the best, and could throw him around like a ragdoll. There was probably some pathology there about spending so much time in sports around toxic masculinity during puberty, but he did not want to analyze that any farther.
But as he hated to admit, Chloe was right. He deserved to not feel lonely, and with a little bit of effort, he could probably find someone to sleep with regularly. It might not be in Ottawa, but he was in 31 other cities throughout the season. A ton of guys in the league had regular hookups in various NHL markets. With the wine coursing through his system, Luca decided this was the perfect solution. He wasn’t ready to date seriously, but he could have some fun. It was time to build a roster.

And it's two friends if you count his cat. He has settled into life in a way he would have never thought possible. And then, lightening strikes. Of course, when that happens, his team takes it upon themselves to interfere. And between a roster of hockey players, an evil lesbian, and a badly behaved cat, Luca might find out just how much better things can get, even when they feel like they're already great. That is, if he survives the embarrassment of it all.
