One word, so grave and calm, comes from the man Akihiko's currently got pinned to the ground. Dark eyes look back at him steadily, out of place in this madness. He can hear Shinji's wheezing breaths behind him. The man at the mouth of the alley still has his gun pointed at Akihiko. Polydeuces' electricity is still coursing through him, crackling through the charged air. He can't breathe.
The stranger's brow furrows almost imperceptibly. He speaks again, his gaze locking Akihiko in place. His voice is steady but commanding when he says—
“Get off me if you want him to live.”

Two investigators are sent to look into a revenge website that's supposedly been leaving a trail of corpses in its wake and get caught up in something way bigger than themselves.

Unfortunately for Claude, he also happens to have a big, fat, stupid crush on said dashing prince and tries not to let it show. It doesn't really go as planned.

Summary
The King of Fódlan is on a diplomatic visit to the Kingdom of Almyra. Dimitri is on a visit to see his long-distance lover, though no one knew about that part.
He and Claude had always known the risks, had always known the stakes. They had always known that they would need to be patient, in order to pave the road back into each other's arms, for good. It's never been a problem until it is.
Dimitri never thought that he'd be in a position where he'd be competing for Claude's hand in marriage, but he is. Which is difficult to do, considering that no one is supposed to know that they're in love.

His eyes caught on the necklace resting on the vanity table--a simple gold chain holding a pendant shaped like a peacock with its head arched over its back. It was a beautiful piece, with emeralds and sapphires nestled into gold bezels to form the bird’s plumage.Dimitri couldn’t help but smile as he took the necklace and undid the clasp, taking great care to not damage it, and hung it around his neck.
He touched his fingers to the pendant. Claude’s gift – a gift from his lover – was a beautiful thing to behold.

Objectively, Kurosawa knew that Tsuge’s formal, grave exterior wasn’t all there was to the man. But Tsuge carried that gravitas quite well. Kurosawa didn’t consider himself a man so easily intimidated—and he’s not, technically speaking, but there was that added layer of this person being Adachi’s closest friend and confidante in the years before Kurosawa got to know him. So. He feels a smidge intimidated. Somehow. Maybe.
But it was precisely because of that that it became all the more important that Kurosawa get to know him, too.
“Sure, I’d appreciate the company,” Kurosawa says in the present, as he slides the offered chair out from under the table.
