A year after 'living' with a sentient pile of wires called Ennard inside of his stomach, Michael Afton decides that there will be no more jobs at Freddy Fazbear's Pizzerias, as the last time it had gone very wrong and he quite literally fucking died, and he boards a mining space ship called Red Dwarf, employed as the First Technician, where he hopes that he will finally get rid of animatronics, dead children and his insane living-dead family.
However, after he survives a radiation leak that killed the whole crew, which has also made him practically immortal, along with Dave Lister, who was locked in stasis for bringing an animal aboard, he spends three million years in space, trying not to go insane in the company of Ennard, the ship's computer Holly, and a hologram of his and Dave's ex-higher up Arnold Rimmer (very unsuccessfully).
And yet, somehow, this entire situation can get much worse when Dave finally gets out of stasis, and their journey back to Earth begins.
