Summary
...but death now means something different. Death is what claimed his best friend, and death is what could tie them together once again. By some wild happenstance, Mike is treading a line he never thought he'd have the privilege of reaching.
As his toes gently curl around the very tip of the cliff, a film reel begins to wind. It's wildly aglow and fills his chest with a comfort he can't describe. A kaleidoscope of purple cloaks and biking to Melvald's and sleepovers and plastic figurines and comic books and that all-consuming, incandescent, bright, warm presence that is Will Byers fills his body from head to toe.
He watches as the water dances below his feet, pulling him towards it with a gentle serenade. Already, he can feel the cold wrapping around his body and filling his lungs. He wonders what might happen after. Is there something beyond nothing? He wonders how Will might have felt in his last moments...
The cliff scene in Season 1, but told from Mike's perspective.

Summary
It's late October of 1987—over a year since the death of Vecna—and Will Byers' trauma anniversary is steadily approaching. When you spend every day with someone, it's easy to notice even the tiniest of abnormalities in their behavior, and Mike Wheeler is no exception to this phenomenon. Will begins to feel haunted again, and Mike seems to be the only thing keeping him afloat in this vast sea of dredged up memories. Everyone chalks Will's melancholia up to the dreaded November 6th approaching, but could it be something more?
Or
Mike is worried that Vecna could be back and messing with Will again. They grow closer as Will confides in Mike and he realizes some (very gay) things about himself.
