“There's this kid I met. His name's Lomedy.” He pauses.
“He's around your age I'm pretty sure and— I'm not forcing you to be friends with him or anything.” Mane licks his lips, swallowing the lump in his throat. “But he's a nice kid. I think you'd like him too and… it would be nice knowing you had him or well- someone like him by your side through all this.”
Lomedy. Flame repeats the name in his mind. He didn't know if he was memorizing the name to actually befriend him or to purposely avoid him for the sake of annoying his brother. He didn't need Mane to be scouting out buddies for him, that's just plain embarrassing.
Maybe he'd consider it, maybe he won't.
Or
After one specifically nasty fight lands him in court, Flame finds himself thrown into a rehabilitation center for troubled teens where he meets this stubborn kid who seems pretty adamant on trying to teach Flame how to care for plants.

fuuuck this is such an evil read. 10/10, do not recommend especially if you're a torchflower duo fan/lh (jokes aside, this was devastatingly peak and amazing, holy)

“No, wait, no.” Theo snaps into the silence, crossing the room and standing protectively in front of Parrot.
“Theo… please.” Parrot calls back.
“Don’t do this bro,” Theo pleads. He knows he can’t defeat Flame, not like this, but he won’t let Flame kill his best friend without a fight.
