Zoro is hoping to come out of whatever this is intact.
He wishes, belatedly, that instead a shark had taken a bite out of him. Or even swallowed him whole and swam to the bottom of the ocean. That may have been easier.
If a second ship hadn’t tried to pincer them like a fuckin dumpling between two metal chopsticks then maybe none of this would have happened. Maybe Zoro wouldn’t be waking up in the ship’s infirmary, sweaty and exhausted.

If you wanted to be super technical about it, it’s just a pile of textbooks covered by a tablecloth he’d scavenged from Aunt May’s the second time he moved out. The kid was breathless, flushed, with windswept hair. Barely twenty and still a complete disaster—more than usual, at least. His hair was always a mess.
“The shocker knocked out all the traffic lights, so there were some delays,” Parker explained, forgetting he had no place behind a wheel if he cared at all about public safety. He was bracing himself on Elizabeth’s desk. She tried, in vain, to swat his hand off with a ruler.
Jameson raised an eyebrow, "How did you take these?”
Parker wrinkled his nose in confusion, “With my camera?” He held up the camera, which hung around his neck by its cracked, leather straps—like that proved anything.
Jameson looked back at his screen. It was Spider-Man trading blows with the Shocker on Manhattan Bridge. The picture was taken slightly above. The shot was perfectly timed to capture the exact second Spider-Man crashed into someone’s car. He was surrounded by destruction. The bridge was deserted of civilians and press alike.
Parker hovered at his elbow like a fruit fly, impossible to swat away. “Do you have to use that one? There’s, like, twenty more where he’s winning.”

As Parker luck would have it, it's awfully hard for Peter to die. He's tried everything he can think of: hanging, drowning, overdosing, gassing, cutting... He's been blessed with the powers of a spider and the immortality of a goddamn cockroach. In a final, desperate attempt to end his life, he asks Deadpool to put out a hit on a seemingly ordinary civilian: Peter Parker.

“Looks pretty human to me,” Hector dismisses him with a wave of his hand. “And if he ain’t, it’s none of our business. He’s good for the Kent farm and for the town, so don’t go botherin’ him now.”
“Huh,” Theo mumbles, watching the Kent boy lift a half-filled water trough. The kid looks up as Theo keeps staring, and gives him a gap-toothed smile and an enthusiastic wave, now holding the trough with a single hand. Theo waves back hesitantly, stopping when he feels Hector’s firm hand slap down on his shoulder. He looks to his side to see Hector waving at Clark as well. Hector leans in real close, whispering:
“I mean it, son. You bother that Kent boy one bit, and the town’ll have your head. Just leave him be.”
