She looked at the memorial stone one last time, memorizing the characters without even realizing she was doing it. It would serve from that moment on as a reminder of her determination. She wouldn’t let Naruto and Sasuke join the names carved on that stone.
That was her nindo.

"No, nononono, Sasuke," Naruto desperately grasps at Sasuke's shirt, now fully died a rusty brown copper. He can already feel the elaborate seal tugging. "Seals are my thing, you son of a bitch!"
"Dobe," Sasuke smirks but it's more of an endearment now. Naruto just wants to see his face one more time but these goddamned tears-
"Y-you have to come after me, yeah?" Naruto blabbers. "Promise me, teme. Promise me, Sasuke."
Sasuke... doesn't answer."I love you." It was a phrase unspoken and Naruto had wished that Sasuke would've said it for the first time after this five-going-six year war. He can feel the pull of the seal and I don't know what to do- helpmeSasuke.
He opens his mouth and Naruto wants to scream at him, yell and demand why? but he-
"I-"
The seal fully activates, the runes shimmering across his limbs, weaving throughout his body and latching onto his soul, his chakra. No. Nonono. Naruto gets pulled fifteen years into the past.

Demons run when a good man goes to war. The night will fall and drown the sun when a good man goes to war. Friendship dies and true love lies.
Bilbo didn’t very much like that poem.
Bilbo Baggins dies and goes peacefully into Yavanna's gardens. Bilbo Baggins dies protecting his king from a mortal blow and goes peacefully into Yavanna's gardens.
Finally one day, Yavanna had enough.
Bilbo Baggins would bring the change. And Yavvanna would do everything in her power to make it happen. Her children would thrive once more.
And for just a moment, Thorin felt the body under him breathe.
“Bilbo! Hold on.”

Summary
Four little hobbits went Adventuring. Bilba Baggins, sent to bring them back, found four little hobbit birds instead. Transformed along with a pair of dwarves by a batty wizard, their only hope is a spell that hasn't been performed in an Age. Bilba is a Baggins, which means Responsibility--and if traveling across Middle-Earth, dealing with ridiculously overprotective elves, and outsmarting a nutty king is what it takes, then that is simply what she'll have to do.
But goodness, she really could have done without this irritating dwarf prince!

Summary
There are several things that the dwarves don't know about the hobbit that is traveling with them. Things that Bilbo is glad to let them find out for themselves along the way.
The first is that he's prepared for anything. His mother used to quiz him about what he'd do in any situation - from relatives to trolls - and Bilbo never disappointed her with his answers. Riding a pony all day gives him plenty of time to plan for everything.
The second is that he can throw a stone or any other small object hard enough to embed it several inches into a tree trunk. His accuracy is uncanny even by Shire standards. He's quite proud of it.
The third is that he doesn't actually say so many proverbs when at home but it seems to annoy the dwarves so he spends time thinking up all the ones he's heard before.
And last, hobbits scold like it is no one's business. The Dwarves he's traveling with really have no idea what will happen if they truly piss him off.

They find the Shire, rich in food, but reluctant to trade with strangers. What better solution than an arranged marriage? Hobbits get a connection to the dwarves, the dwarves solve their trade dispute.
Bilbo Baggins just happens to be the only hobbit willing to do it.

Bilbo Baggins is blessed by Yavanna, a special gift given to him to speak with nature as one of her Chosen Children. For a long time, he used this ability simply to have the best kept garden in the Shire, the least mouse infested pantry, and the most beautiful bird song in the mornings. But when Gandalf arrives with plans of a dangerous journey to a far off mountain with a dragon Bilbo is supposed to charm within, Bilbo is less sure he is blessed. More like cursed.

Bilbo was choking.
His lungs burned with the acrid tang of smoke. Through his streaming eyes, the harsh light of enchanted fires and the glint of dirty orc steel blurred and swam in the darkness. The panicked yells of the dwarves, helplessly clinging to the falling pine tree, were a bold clash against the shrieking cacophony of snapping roots, fierce Warg howls, and the popping of the flames. Above all that, Bilbo heard the sound of Thorin’s skull crunching against stone, his body falling limp against the dry ground. A spike of sharp fear jolted through Bilbo’s chest, and his troubled breathing hitched.

Bilbo takes a leap of faith during the pine tree altercation between the company and Azog, and the repercussions that follow force all the members of the company to re-evaluate the worth of their burglar.

Looking into those eyes again was like plunging into arctic cold water. Bilbo had to stop himself from making an audible gasp. He felt his mouth dry, and a dull ache surface as a deep voice spoke with a controlled and cold demeanor. “You must be the burglar.”

He did remember them all, in some form or another, though he could rarely recall their names or faces, or very much detail about their lives at all. He always remembered their deaths, though. And he always remembered how it was someone – a well-meaning wizard, for instance – that had shown up and enticed or blackmailed him away from his home and family to go off and die for the good of the world.
Much like what was happening now.
Or: How the dragon soul of Bilbo Baggins made a deal with Manwë and can't seem to escape the consequences, and Thorin Oakenshield looks far too much like one of Bilbo's dead husbands.
