Rocky, seemingly caught off guard, angles his carapace up towards me. He chirps in surprise. “Why ask, question?”
“Just answer,” I say, looking away from him. I can’t help but flush with embarrassment asking the question. It sounds stupid and cheesy coming out of my mouth but I have to know: is love truly constant throughout the universe? Is their love the same as ours? What does love mean for Eridians?
After the conversation about relativity, Grace and Rocky talk about love while making chain.

The panic from earlier comes back to settle over me like a blanket. Surely the ship’s medical system can fix this. Surely she doesn’t mean I have to–
