Summary
A slightly different take on the 'realistic' self-insert: drop a modern woman into Middle-earth - and what do they see? Straight teeth, soft clear skin unused to labour, long well-kept hair, and clothes stitched so evenly they look impossible to have been done by hand. Both Eldar and Edain agree, these are unmistakable signs of aristocratic heritage. Add in a handful of Sindarin and Quenya, and her unnervingly accurate foresight - a gift of Elros’ line - and it’s no surprise people start making… assumptions.
So when the universe decides you’re Princess Tindómiel, who are you to argue? (Except you do argue. They just don’t listen.)
Isekai/self-insert with the canon doing allllll the heavy lifting and slotting you straight into the legend. Starts years before LotR, about a decade pre-Hobbit.
Inspired by the brilliant Home with the Fairies by the amazing I_Mushi.

Summary
Trying to lighten the suddenly tense atmosphere, Bilbo jokingly replied “Well I do have some skill at Conquers.” Not that the dwarves would know the weapons used in Conquer the Field. It was common knowledge in Hobbiton that Outsiders preferred, ahem, less developed weaponry for some reason.
Not that the Hobbit’s questioned their preferred arms, oh no, that would be terribly rude.
Not that it stopped Bilbo from wondering why they didn't just use guns.

Summary
When Belladonna Baggins nee Took went into labor with her son, neither she nor her husband were anticipating the complications that arose. Only the intervention of Gandalf and elves from Rivendell managed to save both Belladonna and Bilbo Baggins, pulling them back from the shadow and into life.
But no one touches death without consequences and Bilbo Baggins was forever changed by those moments spent in the arms of the Valar.
Raised as a sensible Baggins with that wild Took streak nurtured from the start, growing up friends with elves and a very nosy wizard, and having faced the horrors of the Fell Winter, it is a very different Bilbo Baggins that steps out his front door.
And this is a very different adventure.
