Inspired by AMC’s Interview With The Vampire (I know the show isn’t even out yet haha so I guess it’s inspired by the trailers?) but this is a modern AU and can technically be read with any versions (books, movie, show) of the characters in mind.

Drugs don’t work, sex doesn’t work, New York hasn’t worked. Somewhere in the Appalachian Mountains, an improbable number of suicides have taken place. Somewhere in a bar in New York, Daniel hears about them. He wants to fill a void. The difference between what is real and what isn’t matters as little to him as the things he’ll find to throw into the darkness. Which, as it turns out, is quite a lot.

Chapter 1: This is just a quick summary of how vampirism "functions" in the Vampire Chronicles books to help new writers in the IWTV '22 fandom. Obviously, the '22 version is distinct from the books, with many improvements, but if you would prefer to write fic that maps to the mechanics of the book series, this guide will give you the broad strokes (or, alternatively, answer some questions you might have!)
Chapter 2: This chapter is about Roman history and a few things that may not be initially obvious regarding characters who are from that period. That is to say, Marius was at one point a verna, a highly-specific category in Rome.
