Wild hit his head (again) and has to stay behind while the others go on a hike. Legend is sure as hell not leaving Wild alone in his house.
It's fine. Nothing could possibly go wrong while the two of them stay behind to rest. The orchard isn't multiplying. There's no shadows dancing at the windows. Something fearful isn't stalking the house. Everything is FINE, and they are just going to RELAX.

Link’s newest quest was confusing — he had to help this kid, also named Link, do… something. Except he was also far away from home and whatever had brought him here hadn’t thought to include any of his items. Damnit, Link had been hoping that, this time, his retirement would stick.

Summary
Hyrule could deal with the fall of the city.
Hyrule could deal with the time loop.
But both at once seems a bit much to ask of a guy.
The memory loss following his apparent death in a previous loop isn't helping.
He can't remember this place, or how long it's been, or this Legend guy who says he knows him, or how to fight the giant metal laser spider monsters, or anything at all since he stepped through that first portal, really.
But he's here now and this problem isn't going to solve itself.
This ain't his first apocalypse.
