For him, if he was determined to have the honor of bringing the myth back to life, then he could find an alternative way to do it. He had always done everything for himself anyway and the myth was not going to be an exception.
However, in the middle of his search, he was met by an unexpected person — a slave running away from his captives.
And If there is another thing that Katsuki did as the second prince, it was loving the feeling of being needed.

Katsuki’s lip quirked, and Izuku prayed very hard for Nana-sama to lightning strike him into ash.
Izuku’s shoulders sagged. “My Okami—”
“—Is still atrocious.” Katsuki smirked, clearly revelling in the shock on Izuku’s face.
Izuku and Katsuki weren't meant to become close. They weren't even really meant to meet. The differences between their clans — and the significant language barrier between them — should have ensured that.
But nobody has ever needed perfect grammar to fall in love anyway.
