Summary
Spider-Man laughs quietly, glancing away and then back. “Don’t be sorry. What is it?”
“Sorry, but,” Seungcheol repeats, voice halting, slowly gaining strength. “Do I… know you?”
Spider-Man tilts his head at an angle, the white eyes of his mask narrowing. “I don’t think so,” he says, firm, and sails right out the door.
Seungcheol doesn't know why Jeonghan has always been so distant. Seungcheol doesn't know that Jeonghan is Spider-Man.

He used to talk to Kita every day, would go to him for everything, once his captain, always his captain, but to neither of their faults, they’re in different worlds now. Kita doesn’t really use social media, and Atsumu doesn’t really go home. Neither of their faults. Kita has a farm, and Atsumu has the court.
Unfazed by the silence, Kita laughs. “I’ve been tellin' you since you graduated,” he says, friendly, “You should call me Shinsuke."
“Kita-san,” Atsumu manages.
aka, in desperate need of a break, atsumu returns home to hyogo for the summer, and to kita.

Bookmarker's Notes
he’s absolutely certain that this is the form he was promised to the world as./
All the hares scatter wildly, and he launches himself across the clearing without a single ounce of hesitation, vision locked in on the one hare he’d spotted earlier. It’s not an equal match in the slightest—Hansol gives it a few seconds before he pounces, full force, and rips its throat out before it can even scream.
It dies quickly, falling limp in his maw.
Hansol’s tail curls in pleasure./
Seungkwan is waiting on the porch when he returns. He’d probably heard him coming from a mile away—Hansol’s senses are sharp, but Seungkwan’s are far better honed from years of having to be one step ahead of everyone else. Of Hansol, whom he always manages to evade for days on end during their hunts despite Hansol’s tracking/
Seungkwan steps close, his tail brushing along the stairs as he approaches. He wraps a hand around Hansol’s neck, pulling him closer. Then he leans in, eyes meeting Hansol’s the entire time, and takes it from him in an open-mouthed kiss, something that only lasts for a second before he pulls back to chew. Hansol watches as he swallows, and delicately licks at his tiny fangs.
Approval./
swallows the soft exhale that Hansol lets out. His little claws are pinpricks against Hansol’s bare chest./
(“Maybe it’s haunted,” Hansol had said, when the realtor had first shown them around. Seungkwan had smacked him, and then made him promise to never talk about their house being haunted again. “You just said our,” Hansol had then giddily pointed out. “Our haunted house.”/
Definitely a boar, next time. Seungkwan would like that./
It’s still the quickest Hansol has ever known anyone to shift—Seungkwan likes to say it’s an Jeju-do thing, something about islanders hearing the call more keenly because of their proximity to nature, but Hansol thinks it might really just be a Seungkwan thing./
warm, Hansol sends. warmhappymatewarmwarmhappymatematewarm—
Seungkwan chitters like a little magpie, batting lightly at him with one paw as if to tell him he gets the idea. hansolsilly, Seungkwan tells him, before adding, seungkwanwarmhappy./
Thump, thump. Thump, thump. Seung-kwan. Han-sol./
Seungkwan shreds bamboo shoots into a bowl while Hansol periodically opens the microwave to prod at a bowl of leftover rice (“Just leave it, it’s going to take forever if you keep checking,” “But how am I gonna know?” “When you take it out at the end,” “If I check it before it’s done then I know it’s not done,” “Chwe Hansol. Close the microwave.”)/
When we’re married, we’ll make time for whatever you want, he’d told Seungkwan a long time ago, back when they’d still been dating. It’d been in the context of mating rituals, of long, drawn-out hunts, but it’d made him think about what he wanted, too.
And this—this might be it, he thinks.
A house that still doesn’t have enough furniture. A yard with too much space and not enough care tendered just yet. A bedroom for two, a living room for thirteen./
It’s only later when they’re washing up, and Hansol’s idly nosing into Seungkwan’s neck again that he smells the same tinge of pine from earlier. He momentarily ignores Seungkwan’s whining about him being a total brat to chase the thread of it. That warmness. Faint, but present in a way that he definitely doesn’t remember it being before. Like Seungkwan’s scent is carrying something new. It almost reminds Hansol of his own sc—
Hansol’s gut swoops.
He barely registers when his knees hit the floor. A plate slips out of Seungkwan’s grip in surprise, clattering into the sink. “What—” he starts, turning to face him, but Hansol’s already rucking up Seungkwan’s shirt with trembling hands, pressing his cheek against Seungkwan’s flat stomach, because how could he have missed it, how hadn’t he placed it before—
Hansol breathes in.
Above him, Seungkwan goes still./

"Nice nose," she says, adding a little swagger in her step for old times' sake. "Is it new?"
Chaeryeong's eyes narrow. "Broke it in a fight." She chooses her weapon, ducking into the ring. "Don't worry, though. You should've seen the other guy."

Chaeryeong didn't even deign to give her a full once-over, which made Ryujin's hormonal teenage brain weak in the knees./
Chaeryeong rolled her eyes. “Fine. Do you need someone to show you around?”
“I said I’m not—” Chaeryeong stared at her pointedly.
“I do, actually. Thanks.”
That was Tuesday afternoon. They were dating by Sunday./
Yeji is just the kind of person who sees faces in clouds and puddles and every object she passes./
“I think,” Ryujin begins, breathing through her mouth. “You’re remarkably well-adjusted for someone with a dead sister.”

Summary
Jeonghan looks intently at the paperwork, half-finished. Patient: Choi Seungcheol. 178cm. Right-handed. Mentally he adds what he’s learned in the past eight months: Hard-working. Prone to martyrdom and dramatics. The strongest batter on the team since Jung Taekwoon. A weak swimmer, apparently.

Bookmarker's Notes
Jeonghan smooths the doctor’s note flat on his clipboard and briefly gets distracted by Park Chanyeol across the field, who looks to be butchering his own wrist with a foam roller./
Jeonghan goes off to rescue Park Chanyeol from himself./
Jeonghan knows his own charms. He’s well-liked because he’s a good listener, and he’s a good listener because he’s often sick of his own dry inner monologue and would rather pay attention to just about anything else./
Sometimes the only person he feels fully comfortable around is Joshua, and by proxy, Joshua’s dumb little cat./
Steam rises from his mug, which smells like one of those gross American hot chocolate packets./
The backseat of Seungcheol’s car is littered with crumpled receipts, fitness magazines, and hoodies. It settles something unquiet in Jeonghan. This he can add to the list of Seungcheol’s imperfect qualities: he can’t swim, he whines, and he keeps a messy car./
“You’re like my sister,” Jeonghan says one afternoon, his feet kicked up on the desk. Seungcheol’s eyes briefly bug out of his head before Jeonghan adds, “She also drinks banana milk like it’s water.”/
They play three rounds before switching to thumb wrestling, then rock-paper-scissors, then a game of flicking envelopes into the trashcan on the other side of the room. No reward except bragging rights and no punishment except shame./
Jeonghan thinks about being blunt. He thinks about laying all his cards flat on the table: I want you to touch me. I want you to take off your clothes and then mine. He suspects Seungcheol would say yes, would do anything he asked.
He also suspects it would cost Seungcheol everything.
So Jeonghan doesn't ask./
“Anything else?” Seungcheol asks.
That’s when it clicks for Jeonghan.
This is the long game. Seungcheol still wants this.
