Summary
Mike loses El again. She kills herself in the Upside Down explosion. Or so he thought.
El is transported to another dimension and severely injured. When Mike finds out, he immediately tries to get her back. However, Mike gets lost, and goes through many alternate universes, seeing what life is like for the party in many different worlds.
Lots of Mileven fluff and angst. I’m including a bunch of fandoms I’m part of as well as some made up or just basic AU stuff.

Basically everyone thinks Eleven is dead, she finds Max about to commit suicide, the Upside Down is bothering everyone, and El gets a cute reunion with everyone.
Also Will likes Mike, Mike likes El, Robin likes Nancy, Max and El are best friends, El and Will bond, and Steve finds love (because HOW does he not have a girlfriend). This work will focus more on platonic and romantic relationships than actual plot, but there will be some plot.(Also sorry I’m too lazy to write a summary)
The title is from a song by Maya Hawke, Robin’s actor.

It's not like Purple knows either. Did—what, did some deep, instinctual part of Purple's soul know that Red was going to save them? No, that's not true.
They had stalled for them anyway. You know, just because. Really, didn't hurt not to.
"Hah, yeah, then we just had to go and survive. Both of us," Red chuckles. The phrase trails off, before they correct it with a perky "—alive."
"Yeah," Purple agrees faintly. "Uh huh."
"What are we even gonna do?" Red asks like it's a joke (a grin in the sound of their voice) but they both know it's not.
"I don't fucking know!" Purple laughs.
