It only grew day by day, and Mika felt he was just waiting for the moment it would take over and swallow him whole. For the day his Oshi-san would leave the apartment and not return, leaving him an empty shell of a human, a wretched creature living for nothing.

“Um…” Mika scratches his cheek. This is sounding like one of those deep artistic things he’s supposed to understand, but doesn’t have the slightest idea about. “Are ya sayin’… ya wanna paint me nude?”
“Non!” Shu throws up his hands. “That is not what I’m saying! Ahh, good lord.” He heaves another sigh, red to the tips of his ears.
(Shu goes on a journey of self-discovery and decides he might be ready to take his relationship with Mika to the next level. Mika, who wasn't around to see this journey, just assumes he's been replaced with a pod person.)
