Summary
A magical storm descends over Baldur’s Gate. The city freezes and vampires roam freely in the daylight, while the raging tempest threatens to tear a rift between the material plane and the domain of a malevolent fey.
Holding the key to the storm is the fey’s warlock - the late Cazador Szarr’s sister, Constancia Szarr.
Her first order of business on arrival in Baldur's Gate? Vengeance.
“And the escaped spawn that returned to kill Cazador… The one you say has stayed in the city since,” Constancia interrogated her captive. “This ‘Astarion’. Where is he now?”

Marcus holds the goblet up, still stinking with klauthgrass, and ponders them, clutched in the wretched claws of his undead monsters. "Well," he says, and smiles. "If you will not willingly drink it, I have a manner of encouragement."
And then he raises his dagger, pricks his own wrist until scarlet pools over his pale skin, and lets blood drip into the goblet.
Before he can help it, Astarion stiffens.

Heartbroken with an unquiet mind, Gale Dekarios uses a blend of magic and tech to build himself the perfect girlfriend who won’t ever leave him.
“MystraBot: Voice test,” he says. “Full synthesis. Tell me…” He pauses, drawing a breath. “Tell me what you see when you look at me.”
“You are Gale Dekarios, User. Age thirty-eight. Wizard and scholar of Waterdeep.”
His smile falters. He scrubs several lines of code, tweaks a directive, then rolls closer on his wheeled stool and tilts her chin so she’s looking directly at him.
“MystraBot: Tell me what you see when you look at me.”
“I see Gale Dekarios—the finest mind of this age. A man of rare brilliance whose command of the Weave is unmatched. Your features are refined, your bearing noble. You carry the quiet dignity of one who was born to shape destiny.”
He closes his eyes for half a second. When he opens them, the smile is wider, almost hungry.

Summary
Astarion is fine - he really is just fine, thank you very much. He wants to do his job, do his best to bully his brain into submission each night so he can get a good night's sleep, and stay firmly under everyone's radar. He does not want to work with his irritatingly cheery and dull colleague - Gale Dekarios - on a stupid and meaningless project.
Alas, the universe - or at least Blackstaff Academy - has different ideas.
OR: Gale and Astarion are both tired, traumatised, and undervalued teachers at Blackstaff Academy and, eventually, Gale worms his way under every single one of Astarion's defences.

Summary
Astarion wants the sun. He wants to bask in the light of dawn, unafraid and unharmed; let it kiss him and not burn; let its light be his private joy, not his fear. How exhausting it is, to be afraid of something he loves so desperately.
It turns out the feeling is mutual.
Astarion's quest to see the sun again triggers multiple religious (and romantic) crises.

Note on romantic content (setting expectations): Bloodweave takes center-stage in terms of screen time, and the Astarion/Lathander relationship tag is the stage the boys are struggling to survive on. Shadowheart often mediates everyone's experience with love and the gods, for better or worse.
