Summary
Maybe desire is not a variable at all, but more of an event horizon. Maybe desire is something that occurs in the dark heart of a collapsed star, and maybe you do not notice it until you are atomizing and being ripped apart into nothingness. Maybe Akaashi is flesh and statistic and volleyball and sticky tangerine juice clumsying his hands, and maybe Bokuto is a black hole. Maybe Akaashi never had a choice, and he is better at wanting things than he thought.

Summary
Atsumu grits his teeth and nods.
“My bad,” he grounds out. “Some people just make it so hard to keep my mouth shut.”
Kita’s hand reaches out, closing around the back of Atsumu’s neck and squeezing. A warning.
“My sincerest apologies,” Kita says to the prince. “This is my top bounty hunter, and he will get himself in check.”
“I should hope so,” Sakusa replies coldly.
“Thankfully,” Kita continues. “You both will have plenty of time to get acquainted. I would offer only my best to His Highness while he is here.” The words dawn on Atsumu like he’s staring into an alien maw poised to swallow him whole. “Sakusa, Miya Atsumu is undeniably the greatest alien hunter in the realm, and he will be training you for the duration of your time with us.”
Atsumu watches the top half of the prince’s face morph from bafflement to outright fury.
Their eyes meet again. Spark to flame.
And Atsumu thinks, ‘Well, fuck. This oughta be good.‘

Summary
It is the rule of things; the cyclical nature of the Earth’s orbit around the sun, or geese migrating in the winter and returning home just in time to face blooming spring. Oikawa has to leave, and so does Hajime. Oikawa is sailing South on steady wings, and Hajime is stumbling his way through his own destiny, hunting for something in the blistering heat of Irvine, California. It is summer in Miyagi, and the air sparkles with sun, and Oikawa flies off into the endless blue of the sky and doesn’t look back.

“Really, Samu.” Atsumu meets his twin’s stare. As familiar as the mirror. As warm as coming home. “Admit it. Yer bein’ sweet to me.”
Osamu shrugs. He pushes the glass into Atsumu’s hand.
“Don’t gotta take it if ya don’t wanna,” he says. “But I figured you’d need it. And I think I know ya pretty damn well by now.”
Miya Atsumu is not bothered by his occasionally very obvious and glaring character flaws. He is not an alcoholic. He knows this to be true about himself.
So, on the morning of his wedding, he begins the day with a shot of vodka.
