After Molly gently, socially pins Caleb against the wall, he figures things between them are settled. Being scolded is never fun, but sometimes people need a bit of a nudge in the right direction, that's all. And Molly is very good at reading people. Caleb is fine, surely.
After certain details come to light—like how Caleb was not, in fact, skimming off the top at all—Molly does his best to rectify the situation.
Or: A wizard and a tiefling walk into a magic shop.

Macaque accidently acquires an artifact from Wukongs treasure vault thinking its nothing special.
Spoiler alert: It's VERY special.
(The fic where a lovesick Macaque uses an artifact not realizing that an equally lovesick Wukong can feel whatever he's doing to it. Wukong goes full detective mode to find the culprit and Macaque tries to help with whatever is bothering his secretive best friend. Absolute buffoonery and shenanigans abound.)

Macaque has never had thoughts like this before. They frighten him, for more reasons than one.
First, because it challenges who he is, the very essence of his being that he’s always been so sure of.
Second, because they are not fleeting anymore; they’re downright distracting.
And third, because Wukong does not mean any of his kisses or touches that way, and Macaque is twisting them and taking them as something they are not, using them as something they are not.
Macaque struggles with pining for his best friend.

Danny isn’t used to ghosts being nice to him, and when they do it’s not the kind nice that he can handle for more than an hour at a time. That is, until he starts to befriend the little green blobs of ecto goo that inhabit the Ghost Zone, and like any kid who always wanted a pet and had to settle with a pet rock, he finds himself indulging their presence and even offering up his energy for cuddles.
This would prove to be one of many “good-turned-bad-circled-back-to-good” ideas he’d have. -

Wukong awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck, “Can’t we just say we’re friends again? At least for now?”
Macaque’s tongue angrily twisted in his mouth. He couldn’t hide the pained look on his face no matter how hard he tried. Now that their feelings for each other were out in the open, the idea of just being friends made him feel sick to his stomach. His bitter tone sharpens his next words, “Do friends kiss friends?”
Wukong’s tail continued to swish; he felt as if he’d just been backed into a corner. His eyes met with Macaque’s prying gaze, “Well, some fr—“ He’s cut off by the tips Macaque’s fingers being pressed against his lips. The sensation caused his breath to hitch, a reaction that is not lost to Macaque. He was struggling to find a more appropriate argument. “I’m just trying to be realistic.”
Macaque can’t stop himself from desperately moving closer to Wukong, “So am I.”
___Or: Wukong and Macaque desperately want to be together, but suffer tremendously cause they don’t know how to deal with their traumas in a healthy way.

Macaque’s twelve year old self had been begging his parents for a specific tape recorder that didn’t need cassette tapes for years before he finally got it that one Christmas. It was a bit more dirty and roughed up than he remembered but it was definitely the tape recorder from all those years ago.
It would have been reasonable to have this in his things if not for the fact he lost it a month later. Not to mention his parents house was over 300 miles away.”
Macaque is a broke college student with a tendency to lose things and borderline depression
What happens when an old tape recorder from when he was 12 magically appears while he’s unpacking and has WAY more recorded on it than he had before by some guy that talks about being trapped in a place for lost things?Or: Macaque listens to recordings on his old tape recorder that weren’t there before and if he falls a little in love with the voice in the speaker that’s his business
