"You aren't supposed to be here." the woman tells her.
"Is your name on this damn bridge?" Vi bites back, not yet opening her eyes to regain focus.
"I'm sorry but I really need this bridge to be alone and...if you could please leave, I'd appreciate it." the woman says, an accent so thick it might as well have clogged her throat.
That's it.
Vi opens her eyes and turns her head to get a good look at her.
"Listen here you—" the words got caught in her throat at that moment, her initial thought and insult that sat on the tip of her tongue.
Her grip on the railing unconsciously softened, unaware of how the tension had slowly started to slip away.
The woman was so beautiful, Vi almost didn't want to jump.

Summary
In a world where Alphas are revered and Omegas are seen as a lesser class, Vi struggles to get through life. She dreams of one day meeting her Alpha and being saved from the pain and torment that is brought on by her Heat. Unfortunately for her, she finds herself Imprinting on Caitlyn Kiramman, a woman that wants nothing to do with her. Caitlyn wants to rule her own world rather than allow her hormones to decide her fate so she rejects Vi harshly.
Even as stubborn as Caitlyn is, she can't deny her nature and ends up mating with Vi. Despite their efforts, Vi finds herself pregnant with a baby that neither she nor Caitlyn want. Yet, Vi is unable to let go of the pregnancy and decides to keep the baby. She plans on taking their child and running away with it but she ends up entangled further into Caitlyn's life and eventually realizes that she's starting to fall in love with her.
If only Caitlyn loved her too.

Caitlyn didn't know what she was. She didn't get her first kiss until she was 20 and it was "meh" at best. She still hasn't had what would be considered an actual relationship at the age of 29 and that's after she expanded her horizons to look into men AND women.
Primarily, Caitlyn just doesn't care. She's never been a person who needs to be in a relationship to feel fulfilled and she's never felt lonely living the single life. But there's still that niggling feeling deep inside her that DOES desire someone in her life. Just...someone who subverts any usual definition of "romantic partner."
But, that person can't possibly exist, right?
Then along came Vi.

The goddess sighed exasperatedly and massaged her temples; concern and amusement were warring inside her. Vi just continued her tirade.
"Would you want to get coffee with me sometime?" Her cadence was so slow, Caitlyn found it adorable.
"Only if you're single, of course."
Caitlyn thought it'd be best to finally answer her, but Powder beat her to it.
"Not everyone is a girl kisser, sis."

After ten years in Stillwater for a crime she didn't commit, Vi breaks herself out and goes home. Her homecoming doesn't go like she thought it would.
Two years later, she's out of control and out on the streets. She's now a champion pitfighter, a raging alcoholic, and completely on her own. Despite her family's best (and desperate) efforts to help, Vi's on a one-way track to ending up either dead or back in prison.
At the same time, Caitlyn arrives in the undercity to collect data and information for her thesis. She starts her research from a local bar called The Last Drop, which puts her right into Vi's path. Vi might have been out of her family's home for years, but she's still not going to let a topsider put them in danger.
Canon divergence (everyone lives!), enemies to lovers (barely, the lovers aspect happens fast), angst, trauma, addiction, and also fluff and humour (because these things can co-exist!)

No sentencing. No crime to speak of.”
