Summary
The fight between Robert and Shroud ends much differently. He had still gotten away in the nick of time and the bomb had still been stuck to his suit. However, the explosion had left Robert with injuries so severe that it was a miracle he'd survived. Regardless of how life-altering his injuries were, SDN was still willing to take a chance on Robert. Managing his disabilities and mentoring the team was the hardest balancing act of his life.

After working at the SDN for months now, everyone on the Z-Team has noticed a slight change within their dispatcher. His voice wasn't as hollow anymore and he seemed to have more life in his eyes. He actually engaged in their silly banter and seemed to be more open with the idea of the team becoming a family. However, the Z-Team wouldn't be the Z-Team without making a few bets.

Or Robert and Sonar are dating. They have been dating for a while now, and somehow, they've been able to keep it a secret from the rest of the team. Mindy Park is rapidly realising that the first intelligent extraterrestrial to make contact with the human race thinks they’re fucking stupid. She’s pretty sure that Dr Grace isn’t accurately translating half the things Rocky is saying, but most of what he is telling her is that Rocky has a better way of doing what NASA wants them to do, and honestly, it seems like Rocky is mostly right. She probably doesn’t want to know what the other half of what Grace’s new alien friend is saying, if the things that are making it through what she’s calling the “middle school teacher filter” are “why would you do something the dumb way when you could do it the right way”.

I found the room in the facility easily enough. It was one of many. Identical little cells with a bed pushed against one wall and hygiene equipment against the other.
There was no one else being held here. I made sure. Leaving some poor fuck here to die of starvation or run out of power was not something I intended to do. It could hold maybe twenty-five in total, but it honestly looked like it was on its way to being decommissioned.
That was probably why they'd stashed Gurathin here. They didn't think that Preservation Alliance would even know where to look.
Luckily, Preservation Alliance had me.
