He’d seen glimpses of her before, the real Rumi, the girl behind the idol and the blade. He’d seen bits and pieces of her in her choo-choo pants, in the girl who wasn’t weirded out by his dumb tiger and arrogant crow, in the insecurities slithering beneath the patterns, in the compassion she’d shown him again and again, in the desperate soul before him who, despite all he had done to her, had told him that he was more than the mistakes he’d made, somebody who’d seen him for all he really was and accepted him all the same. That had been all Rumi, he knew, and still this was the first time he felt he was seeing the whole of her. Half hunter. Half demon. Resilient. Iridescent.

Summary
The stranger next to you is crying. The stranger next to you is crying a lot.
Although you suppose he must be doing his best to conceive his pitiful sobs, the fact that the train carriage is so full it resembles a can of tightly packed sardines is not really working in his favour. He isn’t necessarily being loud, per se; it’s just that the two of you are standing too close to each other, and so every time his chest heaves with excessively deep breaths, you feel it brush up and down against your arm.
It’s honestly pushing you a little bit further to the brink of insanity.
Or; when you get stood up on Valentine's Day, you think your night is done for; that is, until you meet a stranger who claims to be in your current predicament.

All in all, you were taking the very particular hardships of dating a Pro Hero in stride.
You would never have guessed that meeting Izuku’s parents, something completely mundane and not at all out of the ordinary for a normal couple, would be what finally did it for you.
Or; it's finally time for you to meet your in-laws, and you may or may not be having a mental breakdown about it.

He opened his mouth to reassure his uncle, to tell him that he’d be able to start running in just as second, just as soon as the world stopped spinning, but instead all he muttered was, “I’m tired.”
When Iroh brushed against the back of Zuko’s head the pain there abruptly muscled to the front of Zuko’s list of issues, and he gave a loud groan. Iroh pulled back quickly, but Zuko could see that his hand was now dripping with blood.
“Then you should rest, Prince Zuko,” Iroh said, his voice calm and controlled, which would’ve been very nice if the lines of concern on his face hadn’t been so obvious. Zuko watched blearily as Iroh began to look sharply around them, apparently assessing something. “A man needs his rest.”
The world started getting hazy again, but the lack of attempted movement was a slight improvement. A series of shouts pulled him back from the creeping numbness, and Zuko forced his eyelids open.
Iroh was waving his arms, signaling to someone. “We surrender!” Iroh bellowed. “I am with the Crown Prince of the Fire Nation, and he needs a doctor!”

It suddenly occurs to her that he might not be the best person to talk to about this. Who could she have gone to, though? Aang was part of the problem. Toph would probably cackle and tease; hardly helpful. Sokka - that was out of the question. Suki?

“My name is Katara,” she says. Zuko raises his singular eyebrow.
“I could still use that for wanted posters,” he says, almost seriously. “Katara.”
Her name sounds so funny on his lips. “Try your worst, Prince Zuko,” she falls back onto the floor of the cavern. “I think I can take it.”
