Summary
Change is inevitable, immutable. We cannot stop it, and often when we try, the effects spread faster than we can catch. It's the little things that we barely see, the gravel in the tire pushed a little too deep, the raindrop in the pond spreading ripples to the other bank, the grain of sand in the lens, that we ignore. But in the end, each builds, one upon the other, until finally the cuts are too much, until finally the scrapes and scratches are all that you can see. And then you have to decide what is next? What will you open your eyes to tomorrow? What about the day after? And the day after that?

She’s not busy, so Spencer grabs lunch and settles in her office with her. They chatter at each other while they eat, up until she sets her sandwich wrapper aside and gets comfortable. “Alright, buster. Tell me what’s bothering you.”
And Spencer says, “I think JJ and Will are divorced.”
For a moment, she seems to short-circuit, and then… “JJ and Will are what?!”
