Summary

Summary
Driver/Ryland Grace. adjacent to the coltlandgentry stuff.
Driver leaves LA after the events of Drive(2011), emotionally and physically bleeding from wounds he wasn’t sure he would survive. He is as lucky as Shannon was unlucky, however, in that he is on a collision course with the Grace family.
Colt saved him from bleeding out on the side of the road, and Driver finds himself in San Francisco with no plans in place for his future. In SF he becomes neighbors with Ryland Grace, who catches his curiosity.

I’ve got a good track record as a plus-one, too.” Dennis had to say something. To interrupt. To shut this down. But what was he supposed to say? No, you can’t be my plus one, because I lied about my cousin, and there is no wedding, and it seems a little weird to bring a date to a fucking funeral– “Apparently parents love it when you bring home a doctor.”
And just like that, the bubble popped.
“I’m not gay,” Dennis snapped.

Summary

In this alternate universe of The Pitt, Dr. Jack Abbott (trans man, combat veteran, and SWAT medic with a prosthetic leg) is three days post top surgery and on sabbatical from Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center. His husband, Senior ER Attending Dr. Michael "Robby" Robinavitch, takes time to care for him—changing dressings, feeding him Dana’s homemade meals, and helping with his weekly testosterone shot.
As Jack heals, old wounds surface: Jack’s journey realizing he was a trans man and gay, his escape from a deeply religious and rejecting family, military transition and trauma (including sexual assault), and Robby’s severe childhood abuse at the hands of his drug-addicted parents. Nightmares blend Robby’s past with the agonizing decision he made during the early COVID pandemic to withdraw his mentor Dr. Adamson from ECMO.
Through quiet nights, gentle caregiving, and deep conversations, the two men—who have loved each other since high school—find comfort in their shared history and hard-won safety. No one at the hospital knows Jack is trans except Robby and Dana. Slow-burn recovery with heavy emotional themes and eventual explicit intimacy.

Dennis Whitaker comes to the Fold because he has nowhere else left to go.
Hidden deep in the Pennsylvanian mountains, the secluded community offers him a place to live, help finishing medical school, and a future he thought he’d already lost. The Shepherd himself - Jack Abbot - welcomes him warmly, the flock members treat him like family, and for the first time in months Dennis feels like things might finally be working out.
Then there’s Robby - the quiet lumberjack who keeps watch over the commune and the forest alike, who rarely speaks but always seems to notice everything, and who seemingly never strays far from Dennis’ side.
