    While on a routine patrol around the border of Camelot, Arthur, Merlin and knights are attacked by a seemingly invisible assailant and the newly appointed court sorcerer is badly wounded. They retreat into a nearby watchtower to regroup but it's clear whatever malevolent beast is hunting them doesn't intend to let them go so easily...

    Basically the whumpiest whumping whumpstorm you will ever see. Not Slash but can be read as such if that's what pleases your little heart.

    Takes place as if Uther managed to tell Arthur that Merlin had magic, in 503 the death song of Uther Pendragon. Arthur then has to decide what to do about this new information.
    First fic i've written in years so apologies if it's not great. Please leave kudos and comments as would love to hear everyones thoughts and see if i should continue to write this. I wrote this because i'm still upset with the fact Arthur didn't learn about Merlin's magic until his death I think we missed so much character development which would have happened if we'd seen him find out before his death. I want to portray Arthur going on that journey from pain and betrayal to realising everything that Merlin has done and show him the appreciation he deserves.
