Grace was panting by the time he got close enough to the man. Hands shaking, he began pulling the stranger free from whatever had trapped him to the wall, grunting softly from his efforts. The man was undeniably sturdy, built similarly to his submarine, as if made out of pure iron himself.
Grace watched as his eyes peeled open.
They were tired, and dark, and seemed to glint red in the reflection of the blood surrounding them. On the topic, he seemed to be absolutely drenched in it.
Grace’s breath hitched.
The man gazed up at him with almost a look of wonder. A bone-deep, exhausted, helpless sense of wonder.
“...Are you an angel?”

The Boy Wonder’Percival glanced up at the angel’s grieving face. The Boy Wonder, huh? That was one way to call a boy as young as that. As if on instinct, he looked at the group of spirits walking ahead of him, trying to see if there was an adolescent boy in the fray. He found none.
Yves felt the eyes on him and looked over his shoulder, eyes darting to the illuminated gravestone. “Oh him? He was a brave boy.” He beckoned the priest, telling him to keep with one hand. “Quite special. He had so much soul in him, and a pure heart. A shame he passed young.”
