A little fast-forward into the currently producing 9-1-1 season eight where I wrote my little twist on Christopher coming back and buddie being canon by the time he arrives back in L.A.

Eddie was never one to hate silence–he enjoyed sitting in his car for a bit an hour or so after his shift ended, always appreciated the times he could get in a nap before needing to run errands but this? This was torture.

“Buck, please don’t do this.” A tear streamed down Eddie’s cheek. The love of his life just broke up with him and he had given no reason as to why, not yet at least. Buck’s eyes were just as tear filled as Eddie’s were yet they were too stubborn to drip down.
Buck was silent as he stood across from Eddie, leaning against the locker room building’s wall with his arms crossed. His eyes were casted down onto the floor, as if staring at the guy he just broke up with was too painful. “They found out.” Buck said slowly.

“I broke up with Tommy.” Buck blurts out after minutes of silence. Apparently Eddie was wrong.
Eddie should be saying I’m so sorry or Buck, come and sit down, let’s talk about it or even why? But nothing comes out of Eddie’s mouth. Is it so awful that Eddie wants to smile like he’s just won a metal? Or is it worse that he wants to sob with relief that Buck isn’t dating him anymore. Dating Tommy wasn’t the problem, the problem was Buck is–was dating someone who wasn’t him.
“You did.” Eddie means for it to come out like a question but it came out like a statement. An acknowledgement. And everything clears up.
or-Buck shows up at Eddie's house and is tired of them beating around the bush since clearly, Eddie wasn't planning on doing anything about their dilemma.
