如果要他说出Max与Charles的故事开始的地方，如果有一个时刻可以分隔开“从前”和“后来”，可选答案会有好几个。
正确答案只有一个，他永远不会忘记那个名字。
那个地方叫Val d’Argenton，新的故事仍在那里书写。
Charles喜欢讲述那次摩擦的故事——一个弯一个弯地讲，注入诗意的戏剧性，详细描述每一种情绪：沮丧、愤怒和纯粹的怨恨。每次讲的时候，他的微笑都会随着眼里的欢快愈加灿烂，即使他的言语在叙述一个情绪完全相反的故事。
“我再也不想回到Val d’Argenton了。”Charles曾坦言。

如果不是那个绿眼睛怪物完全无视了已经预签订好了的Max大腿的使用权的话，所有的一切本都是有情可原的。这份权利早已被预先确定并属于Sassy（有时也属于Jimmy，她勉为其难地同意）。然而，再怎么多的低声嘶吼与恶毒的凝视似乎都无法穿透这个生物厚厚的头骨，在超过95%的任何可能的下午时光里他会贪婪地霸占Max的大腿，有时是用他的头，有时是用他的脚，还有那么几次他甚至整个人都跨坐在Max身上——后者对于Max来说肯定很不舒服，因为与Sassy相比，绿眼睛怪物的体重肯定严重超标。
（Jimmy坚持认为用体重来羞辱另一个生物可算不上友好，但她可没说错。凭借她较小的体型和相当更合理的体重，Sassy 确信，对于 Max 来说，把她放在腿上要比把那个大得吓人的家伙放在腿上舒服得多。）
