Summary
“Swear it.”
Though he had long lost faith in the gods, Odysseus knew the weight of a divine oath and had learned to cherish it. Cruel and selfish though they were, the gods were, at their core, made of honest stuff, and their very being rejected the breaching of the sort of trust that an oath required. Odysseus did not know what would happen if such a vow was broken, but he knew that no god was willing to endure the consequence.
“Swear that we will be done after this. Swear that you will not come after me, nor my family, nor my island or anyone else you think should bear the suffering you’ve reserved for me.”
Poseidon shifted ever so slightly, his eyes half-lidded with exhaustion, his lips slow around the words. “I swear it,” he said, as though every syllable was wretched up and out of him. “After this, we are done.”
Odysseus’ smile grew teeth. It had been too easy. “Good,” he said, using the trident to rise to full height again. “Then five hundred more it is."

Stanford turned the postcard over in his hands, and the picturesque vista of New Mexico gave way to an all-too-familiar sloppy scrawl.
It simply said, "PLEASE COME."
Perhaps Stanley could be of aid one last time...

Summary
The summer of 1966 was one of the happiest summers Stanley and Stanford ever had. It was the year they found their beloved ship and promised each other that they would one day sail in search of adventure. Unfortunately, things hardly ever seemed to go right for very long, and they soon find themselves very far from home and each other.
