Summary

Summary
Derek Hale is a Class Five Sentinel — one of the most powerful in federal service — and he's falling apart. Four years after his former Guide used their bond to crawl inside his head and sell state secrets through his senses, he's sworn off Guides entirely. But the longer he goes without one, the more his senses fragment: zone-outs, feral episodes, walls through which he puts various colleagues. The Bureau of Sentinel-Guide Affairs gives him an ultimatum — accept a new Guide or be locked in a containment facility for everyone's safety.
Enter Stiles Stilinski: newly manifested, top of his class, already fired from two field placements for being smarter than his supervisors and incapable of keeping that information to himself. Their compatibility index is ninety-fourth percentile. Their first meeting goes about as well as you'd expect.

Derek Hale has run Beacon Hills' mating run five times without finding his mate. This is his last—after tonight, he's done. He's moving to Oregon. He's going to find someone the normal way and stop pretending the moon owes him anything.
Stiles Stilinski has been in love with Derek since sixth grade, has a poem about his eyes that got screenshotted and sent to literally everyone, and just presented as an omega three months ago. He's going to run, and he's going to find out once and for all if the thing he's been carrying for six years is just a crush or something written into his bones.
