Summary
On Damian's 10th birthday, his mother lets him go to Gotham to see if he wants to stay with his father. He doesn't because, even at this young of an age, he knows that if he goes, Damian will never see his mother again. He is a child, but he will protect his mother.
Damian does, however, gain access to the Batcomputer. A good assassin should monitor any and all possible advisories.

“Morning, scrapper,” Bode says. Cal stares – not at the expanse of chest peeking from his collar or at how soft Bode looks, but at the sweep of his hands. One hand, palm up and slightly bent, moves up while the fingers of his other hand tap his wrist, that arm flat and bent at a right angle. Good morning. He gets three letters into s-c-r-a-p-p-e-r before Cal moves without thinking and covers his hand with his own.
“Morning,” he says back, voice rough. He swallows and tries again with, “I can mostly hear you this close. Plus, I can read lips.”
(I just really wanted to give Cal hearing aids.)

Well, no, in truth it starts on Geonosis, with Jango laying in the sand in a deserted gladiator pit full of long rotted bodies and broken droid parts.
