Jinu's self-doubt lingers after he comes back to Rumi, and nightmares fill most of his nights. Forgiveness is always hard, even harder when you're trying to forgive yourself.
Or Jinu has nightmares, and so does Rumi. They find comfort in each other as they work at fighting the worst kind of demons, the ones inside.

Summary
Rumi's grief lingers after the final battle. Her nights are often filled with nightmares of smoke and ash, with too much emotion she now has nowhere to place, and with words that were too late. Her heart was too full with all the things she never thought to say to Jinu until it was too late.
Until it wasn't.
Or Jinu comes back to Rumi, and she finds herself having to convince him that forgiveness is hers to give, whether he thinks he deserves it or not. That forgiveness is not an act, or a price, but a choice.

Summary
The bathhouse ambush follows the same old script, the same old plot.
He changes it up, just a tad. Rumi holds out her sword to him, both of them circling each other in a dance, and Jinu decides screw it.
He steps forward, she prepares for war, but the tip of her sword touches his chest, right where his heart should be. The sword glows and crackles, reacting to him, pulsing in time with his breath; Rumi’s eyes dart to it then back on Jinu, wide and unsure.
He smiles. “Hey Rumi, what am I supposed to do?”
And then he walks into her blade. It pierces him true, and he relishes holding her, if only for a mere fraction of a second, their time limited.
Just when things start to fade away, he hears it, barely: “J-Jinu?”
Rumi’s single word keeps echoing in his head, all he can hear. She shouldn’t have known his name yet. She shouldn’t have that gentle a tone yet.
Every time Jinu dies, he's flung back in time to right after the first Soda Pop performance. Why and how, he knows not. All he knows is Rumi is there with his soul each and every time.
