Ever since they dragged this man aboard, Grace has felt slightly insane. He hasn’t been able to function fully, always torn between his duties to Rocky and his apparent duties of watching over The Stranger
Grace spends a majority of the day he doesn’t feel needed in the lab sitting in the med bay, watching Armando as it whirs away to keep the Stranger stable. He knows Rocky is probably worried about him, or even a bit hurt because of his newly divided attention, but he also trusts that Rocky understands. After all, this is the first time he’s seen someone of his own species in… a very very long time.
Rocky has a whole planet to come home to. A mate. A life where he will be regarded as a hero, just like Stratt promised Grace would be.

Simon wakes up in complete blackness, no glowing camera button, no spark of electricity… just fucking blackness.He slowly sits up, his hair pulling bits of congealed blood up with him; there is at least 5 inches of the stuff all around him. He sticks his arm out to feel for the wall of the sub but comes up with empty space; he moves a little further, still nothing.
He slowly gets up and walks forward, holding his hand out until he hits something, a large, smooth, curved object. He feels along it and realizes that this is the outside of the sub… he's out… he's… he's actually fucking out!

Summary
When an Eridian probe picks up on what sounds like a human voice, on a planet that wasn't previously on any starmaps, of course Grace has to go investigate what it is. He wasn't sure what he expected to find, but a welded shut submarine with a man trapped inside certainly wasn't it.
