Summary
Will reminded him of startled a horse. He wanted to run his hands down those shivering flakes and calm them, almost as much as he wanted to drop the reins and see what direction he would charge.
"Release yourself, Will," he murmured. "You have tangled yourself in the reins of a dream. I assure you, there are no monsters here," he whispers.

Summary
“What do you want?” The man repeats, the curly head rolling upright, disrupted flies falling to his lap with a snow of dust. His eyes are crystal pale, eerily unfocused.
“This is my property, so I think I should be the one asking the questions, yeah?” John clips, taking a step closer.

Summary
“I, for one, have never asked money from an hitchhiker, especially when I was the one to offer the favor. It’s just about doing something nice, right?”
This time, he caught the exact word that made the corner of Astarion’s mouth twitch—“favor”.
“Though,” Wyll adds, “I won’t say no if you insist on splitting the cost on gas, rest assured.”Wyll has to reach the next town in two days and Mizora will not consider a total shutdown of the local railroad system a valid reason to change the program. So, Wyll prepares to do three things: drive there instead with his affectionally nicknamed Old Lady, not think about it, thank you, and also do his best to help along the way. As usual.
Astarion… well, Wyll would like to know, actually! He knows that the man's travel plans got shafted, same as his, and that's truly the extent of it. Call it professional curiosity, perhaps; after all, Wyll is a journalist.
As for most stories that he covers—there is, of course, more to this one too.

Summary
This must be some kind of horrible joke at Castiel’s expense. Is he truly expected to protect a King? One who has been their enemy for as long as he can remember? He is much more suited to being a part of the army, or at the very least someone who helps to train the knights. That would be far more preferred than having to watch over the King. It means Castiel would get to keep fighting – and that’s the only way he knows to give meaning to his life.

Summary
Astarion has found a new lease on life, all thanks to the benevolence of the Absolute. No, living in a tower filled with cultists and having to deal with superior officers who think they can order him around is not exactly his idea of paradise, but anything is heaven compared to life under Cazador. He even gets his own room all to himself.
At least, until one Wyll Ravengard, newest member of the Absolute's ranks, is assigned to his room.
(In which Astarion and Wyll are swept up by the cult before the intervention of a certain magical artifact.)

Summary
It wasn’t a stirge or a deathfang, Gale choking down a gasp at the humanoid figure madly lapping and guzzling the bowl of blood. It was a vampire.
When Gale becomes aware of a creature targeting the infestation of necrotic rats plaguing his store, his eager brain fixates on the question of what being would willingly consume such pests.
His answer of a feral vampire spawn would only leaves him with an overabundance of academic questions and emotional complications.

Summary
Gale Dekarios of Waterdeep is running out of time and ideas. The Netherese orb fused to his chest grows hungrier with each spell he casts.
In a calculated risk, Gale travels to Baldur’s Gate to bargain with Cazador Szarr, the city’s ancient vampire lord, whose infernal pact with Mephistopheles may hold the key to unraveling the orb's power and freeing himself from his curse.
Reluctantly, he returns to Waterdeep with an unexpected “companion”, Astarion, one of Cazador’s spawn. There ensues the slow realization that neither of them is entirely what they seem to be.
