    Babs sees a little face over her crossword puzzle and a pair of impossibly light blue eyes looking at her. She jolts, clutching her chest.

    “Hi,” Tim says obliviously, casually balancing his weight on her drawn-up knees with his soft gummy palms. “You look sad.”

    15-year-old Babs has never needed validation from anyone, but... Batman's latest words to her have left her spiraling. It would be a good time for a mental health break, if not for the men trying to kidnap 5-year-old Timothy Drake while she's babysitting him.

    He had pushed his son into the Flash's arms as the cosmic treadmill faded from existence. In a way, looking Bruce in the eyes had prepared him for the last leg of the fight. He knew there was an instant in time where his son had grown proud and tall, had friends, made a name for himself.
    Thomas Wayne could claim that the knowledge had given him the courage to detonate the cave, to finish off the forces seeking to destroy him. He could finally reunite with his family in the afterlife.

    But life has a sense of humor when it comes to Waynes and billowing explosions.

    Or, Thomas wakes up in the Batcave of the mainstream universe. Life had honored his request and given him a family, but not the one he'd expected.

    Chaos ensues as the Justice League tries to figure out how to deal with this new and rougher 'spooky'. Thomas meets all four of his grandsons and tries to figure out this whole 'Grandfather' thing, and Bruce finally has his father back.

    (Rating changed to Mature due to some graphic depictions of violence and injury.

    Alfred nods wisely, his mustache twitching in amusement. “I see.”

    “I’m fine,” Damian says irritably. He strips off his mask and cape, ignoring the persistent chill that’s settled into his skin.
