As they silently rested by the roadside, Leon could see that it was starting to get dark. They really had been walking the whole day. While it was a good thing that they had put some distance between them and Raccoon City, how long would it be until they reached somewhere they could get some help?
He looked over at Claire, who was currently fiddling with her fingers, picking at the blood and grime, trying to get it all off. Sherry was leaning against her, eyes drooping.
If push came to shove, they’d likely have to spend the night out here, something he wasn’t particularly eager to do, especially with a young child like Sherry. They at least needed to find some shelter of some kind.
That’s when Claire suddenly stood up. “Hey, look over there!” She was pointing at something down the highway. “I see something!"

The Ashcroft household could stand to take in a few more members. Even if they may be a former B.O.W. with no understanding of the outside world and a PTSD ridden government agent with a penchant for unhealthy coping mechanism.

Claire let out a brief laugh, but it didn’t hold much humor, “What’re you shy or something? I have an older brother, remember? It’s nothing I haven’t seen before.”
Oh you have no idea, Leon didn’t say. He squeezed his eyes shut when he felt more blood ooze down his chest and arm. “It’s not… Just don’t worry about it, okay?”
OR: A study about Leon in the direct aftermath of Racoon City, and his reflections on the people he couldn't save. And to add insult to his literal injury, Claire learns something he'd rather keep secret.
