Summary
Matthias has never felt particularly loved.
After all, growing up in an abusive household with bigoted parents could have that effect. With a stepdad that regularly beats him in his drunk stupor (and a mother that does nothing but watch), Matthias learned that love was conditional on the best days, and unattainable on the worst days.
He never particularly cared to know who his actual father was. Why should he? Whoever the man is, he obviously didn't care enough to stick around.
Now studying as a young prodigy at the FBI academy and working part-time, Matthias hopes to make a name for himself so he can finally get his own apartment and move away from the endless abuse. When he walks into his first class of the day, Intro to Criminal Profiling, he doesn't expect to catch the attention of the reclusive professor Will Graham, apparently known for his ability to empathize and get into the minds of killers. He also doesn't expect to meet a certain enigmatic psychiatrist, one he feels a strange pull to for reasons he can't explain.
Matthias may finally learn what it feels like to be loved, even if that love is darker and more obsessive than he expected.

Summary
The girl stood still. There was a gentle tap-tap echoing in the air as she observed the room. Her fingers were wet, and her toes squished unconsciously into the puddle beneath her, an age-old habit from a childhood spent playing in the water. It was wildly inappropriate in the current situation, her mind helpfully pointed out.
Tap tap tap.
The noise mocked her. She inhaled a breath, disrupting the sound, and turned her eyes away from the tableau before her. Her fingers clenched into fists. Unhelpful, she couldn’t help but notice. The skinny little hands that sat at the end of her equally short arms were virtually useless. Tiny fingers unable to clench anything, palms to small to hold anything. Useless.
Tap tap tap.
The girl inhaled again, flexing bloody fingers into the cold air. She eyed the floor once more, or more accurately, the bloody mess that covered the floor. Her toes squished again.
OR: A girl is promptly horrified to learn that she has been reborn into Hannibal universe and is fairly certain of her impending death. She really shouldn't have gotten attached to the man that is now apparently her father.

It wouldn't be as aesthetically pleasing and if Hannibal was already adjusting his schemes for Josie Graham’s sake, the least she could do is die aesthetically.

Summary
At 46, Dr. Hannibal Lecter is the picture of perfection. He moves effortlessly through Baltimore’s high society, but among the wealthy, appearances are everything, and questions have begun to surface: Why has he never married? Why no children? Behind the veiled glances, judgment emerges—an unwelcome spotlight for a man with bodies in his basement.
When the FBI stumbles upon a crime scene in rural Maryland, they find a single survivor: a deeply traumatized four-year-old girl. The child is clearly not ordinary, something hides within her silence, something deeply concerning. She has seen things she shouldn’t have and lived when others had not, and when she lays eyes on Hannibal Lecter, she doesn’t flinch, she clings.
If society demands the performance of family, perhaps this little girl is the perfect solution. Perhaps, if she carries a darkness like his, she is something even more precious than that: a mirror.

Summary
Pearl knows her neighbor is a cannibalistic serial killer. Okay, no, she doesn’t know - that would require actual proof, or you know, having seen it with her own eyes or something - but she’s pretty damn sure her neighbor is a cannibalistic serial killer.
Maybe it’s the sinister Bond Villain vibes he gives that people, crazily enough, mistake for European charm. Maybe it’s his sterile home with its creepy art and haunted harpsichord. Maybe it’s the way he looks at people, like they’re a particularly colorful menagerie of zoo breed. Maybe it’s the psychiatrist to murderer pipeline that everyone is ignoring. Maybe it’s the fact that Hannibal rhymes with cannibal.
Maybe it’s the fact that he keeps making fucking cannibal jokes at every one of his dinner parties that she’s forced to attend, all the while she’s doing her best to pretend she enjoys his food. Oddly enough that’s the hard part - God evented McDonalds so that the good people of the earth didn’t have to eat rare breeds of lizard anymore.
Or: One teen girl gets to view Hannibal the way the audience does.
