Of course not, Connor was a substance abuser and him drinking anything, especially to this extent, would have meant relapse and Oliver would’ve had to try and force him to go to all those rehab centres all over again. So he never had a clue what ‘type’ of drunk he was. But now he was seeing it, and now he finally knew how Connor acted when intoxicated.
He was sarky and angry as always of course, that never seemed to leave him no matter the situation, the constant vibe you got from him that he was one step ahead, unshakable, but that also simultaneously if you knew him well (which Oliver had at least believed he had), that he was one wrong word away from totally breaking apart. That never left either. But, when filled to the brim with alcohol and the lack of impulse control and so many secrets...
Connor was a truthful drunk.”

He took the eyeliner pen gently from her hand and tilted her face up towards him with a careful hand on her chin. After a moment of carefully examining her eye, he made a few deft strokes with the eyeliner pen and handed it back to her.
‘There.’
‘Harry!’ she exclaimed, and he glanced up at her, somewhat guiltily. ‘How come you know how to do eyeliner? Do you have a secret sister or something?’

It took less than 24 hours for Javert to regret bringing the boy home.
In truth, it only took that long because Javert had been working all day, and hadn’t had the time nor energy to worry overmuch. He thought of the child three times during his patrol in the rain that day: once to hope he hadn’t run off or torn the apartment to shreds; once to hope that leak in the ceiling hadn’t opened up again during the day’s storm and soaked the boy; and once to wonder whether he would prefer a brown or white roll for his dinner (Javert chose brown, because it was cheaper, and he wasn’t sure how his meagre inspector’s salary would stretch to feeding a growing child as well as himself).
It was the singing, in the end, that broke the inspector.OR: Javert takes Gavroche with him after the raid on Thenardier's inn. Found family, crime-fighting shenanigans and domestic fluff ensue.
