Not Orion Pax, whose concern over the sudden silence of one of his favorite writers drives him to take up his hero’s pen. Not Terminus, who only wants to survive.
But Trepan and Senator Shockwave both know well what’s coming. One aims to use a defiant miner’s fall to crush the aspirations of the masses. The other wants to use that miner’s triumph to ignite them. Neither much cares about Megatron himself, or his ultimate survival.

Summary
Before the war, Minimus Ambus commissions the Ultra Magnus armor to escape from his brother’s shadow, and successfully manages to live a double life as an enforcer until the Decepticons attack the Senate and there is no longer any need for Minimus Ambus at all. After a couple million years in Optimus Prime’s inner circle, it’s a little too late to tell anyone the truth of who Ultra Magnus really is underneath, and honestly, he’s not sure he even wants to.
Being handed command of the Wreckers isn’t an easy task, but it gets even harder when his long-lost brother Dominus Ambus is assigned to the team, bringing with him uncomfortable reminders of a life Ultra Magnus thought he’d left behind forever.

Summary
Everything about this was so damn complicated. It was objectively a terrible time. It was the best time he'd got, and the only chance he'd had since he met Isami. Isami barely knew him. He was closer to Isami than anyone else on the ship. He knew what he wanted. He had no idea what he wanted this to look like. More than that, it broke all his own rules.
Before the ATF makes landfall in Japan, Lewis gets to thinking about what happens if nobody on the ship gets another chance to make the most out of life. He's faced with a decision - does he confess to Isami, or protect their friendship? He only has one night to make his choice.
Set between episode 5 and 6.

Smith sinks deeper into the blanket. He places a hand over his forehead. The shadow of his hand blocks the vivid color of his eyes. “You know, if I were any other girl, I'd have thought you'd roofied me.”
“I didn't —”
“I know you didn't. I just —” Smith lifts his hand to look at Isami. “— know you wouldn't. But I don't think I know who you are.”
There's a beat, a pause, as Isami takes a deep breath. The sheets feel scratchy under his fingertips, cheap — ultimately colder without Smith grinning within them.
“I’m Isami Ao,” he says, careful, tentative; the words always feel like sandpaper on his tongue. “I'm your partner.”
“Isami Ao,” Lewis Smith intones. “My partner.”
Or; the mind may forget, but the heart is always faithful.
