Katsuki's mom and dad got a divorce, and he stayed with his mom and her new boyfriend. This new boyfriend started out nice, but as they stay together, they get more abusive towards Katsuki. Katsuki is too ashamed to ask for help, and only gets it when its forced upon him by people who actually care about him.
