“I suppose I was.” Ilya smiled at him, all bright and soft at the edges. He pinched the little’s cheek, “I’m taking after you, hm?”

Ilya knew, before they’d even left the hospital, where he was going to keep the tank. Right beside the bed, on Shane’s side. Ilya knew, after Nathan gave him a demonstration, how to use the tank if he needed to.
He hoped he wouldn’t have to. That Shane would be okay.
“I love you, Ilya,” Shane whispered against Ilya’s hot skin. “Thank you for taking care of me.”
“Moya lyubov,” Ilya kissed him again. “Ya tebya lyublyu.”
