Summary
Toby's entirely prepared for his little excursion, excited to go out and obtain a surprise gift for his boyfriend, Jack. He grabs his axe and heads out the door of the mansion, disappearing into the woods. He's planned this for so long, thought out each detail more carefully than he'd think about his proxy missions.
Just as planned, with the moon high in the sky and darkness hiding him from sight, he closes in on the first house on his list.

“Whatever it was, how a countless amount of bodies fit in one hole in the ground is not our priority right now.” JJ jumped in, shutting down their little debate about a completely irrelevant topic. “We’ve got a forest known for people going missing in it and probably a decade worth of bodies.”
“A forest that kills people…” Emily didn’t sound very amused by the strange case. “Seems to me more like a serial killer who got off scot free thanks to an urban legend.”
“More like a group of serial killers.” It was Rossi who said the obvious. They all knew it from the moment they saw the reports on the first five bodies. So many different kinds of weapons, wounds, signatures… One person couldn’t possibly have done all that.
(or: a mass grave was discovered deep inside of a forest where people tend to go missing. The BAU should probably find out what's been happening for the past few years. Little did they know, it'd lead them down a terrible rabbit hole.)

Summary
—Oh please, you have no idea what I’m going through, you have no idea what my marriage was like, bringing another child into it would finish tearing it apart —she ran a hand over her face, tense— I’m already a bad mother to my daughter, I admit it, and with him I’d be a monster, I can’t, I don’t want to do that to a baby
Tim felt a hollow in his stomach, a hollow that had nothing to do with guilt but with the brutal certainty that Connie was telling the truth, and she did it without a single drop of shame
—You don’t even know me —he said quietly— you don’t know if I’ll be a monster to him too
Connie held his gaze, dry, practical, broken in a way that didn’t ask for help
—He’s your son, Tim, I’m just the one who gave birth to him, nothing more
(°°°)
Or Tim is Toby’s biological father.
